Cosmetic dentistry is the comprehensive oral care that combines art and science to optimally improve dental health
and function while optimizing the aesthetic benefits. In other words, we make
your mouth feel great, work great, and look fantastic! When I was in
Dental school, the esthetic considerations were given a cursory review. Today,
cosmetics play an ever increasing role in dentistry. And we have a wide
variety of treatments to help you get the smile you desire.

Ø Whitening
(bleaching) is the most common cosmetic dental procedure. There are many
options for bleaching. Click here to learn more about
bleaching.
Ø Contouring, also known as tooth reshaping is done to correct minor
shape and alignment issues. Contouring does thin the enamel,
usually not a problem with good oral hygiene.
Ø Bonding is a process in which an enamel-like dental composite (a
tooth colored material) is applied to a tooth's surface (or cavity), sculpted into shape, hardened and then
polished. They do tend to stain and discolor over time.

Ø Veneers are ultra-thin, custom-made laminates that are bonded
directly to the teeth. They are a good option for closing gaps, correcting minor irregularities,
supporting compromised teeth or disguising discolored teeth that do not respond well to whitening
procedures. Click here to learn
more about veneers.
Ø Porcelain crowns are used to restore more badly broken teeth, and
provide for a very strong long lasting beautiful restoration. Click here to learn
more about Porcelain crowns.
Ø Dental implants are artificial tooth root replacements and are used
in prosthetic dentistry to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth.
Today this is the best alternative to replace missing teeth.

Implants.
Ø Dental bridges are false teeth which are bridged between two
porcelain crowns to fill in the area left by a missing tooth. The two crowns holding it in place are attached
onto your teeth on each side of the false tooth. This is known as a fixed bridge. This procedure has been
used to replace one or more missing teeth. They are difficult to
keep clean, and the missing tooth may not match.
Ø Gum lift is a cosmetic dental procedure that raises and sculpts the
gum line. The procedure involves reshaping the tissue and/or underlying bones to create the appearance of
longer or more symmetrical teeth. Very useful in correcting the
“Gummy smile.” And it can correct the irregularities on gum
heights we see with older restorations.
