DR. GREGORY C. DILGER

I am a third-generation dentist, born and raised in Oregon. I grew up in West Salem, and remember going to the library in the old West Salem City Hall building.

The only time I did not live here was while going to school, first at OCE (now Western Oregon University) in Monmouth, then at Creighton University Boyne School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. I graduated in 1977, and moved back to Salem the next day. 

I met my wife Nancy while attending OCE and we were married in 1971. We have two sons, James and Michael. James works at Salem Hospital in computer technology, and Michael is in school at Northern Colorado University in Greeley, Colorado.  Nancy is very involved with the office work and other functions at her church, and does the books for the dental office. 

In my free time I enjoy bike riding. Nancy and I like to go out to Minto-Brown Island in the evenings to ride, and I also ride the mountain bike trails on Mount Hood. I am also an avid snow skier, ski racer, ice hockey player and exercise enthusiast.

After dental school I started my Dental practice along side my father, Dr. Felix Dilger. After 11 enjoyable years together, he retired in 1988.

I have always remained on the leading edge of dentistry, taking many continuing education courses and trying new treatments, ideas and technologies. From the Caridex system in the 1980’s to the first networked digital x-ray system, enhanced magnification and lighting, in-office CAD-CAM technology, to cutting-edge laser treatment for gum disease and dental implants for tooth replacement.  

Dentistry has proven to be extremely interesting, stimulating, satisfying and mostly just fun. I look forward with eager anticipation to what the future brings in dentistry both for me and for what it can do for my patients.
